Kay is a second year PhD student working on spin-crossover soft materials with Professor Malcolm Halcrow. She has a peculiar devotion to X-Ray crystallography and enjoys an unusually tidy fume hood. When not shooting X-Rays at tiny shiny things, she likes to play the guitar, learn German and dye her hair interesting colours.
Matt is is a third year PhD student studying the effect of ferrocene incorporation into metal complexes for use in cancer therapeutics with Professor Patrick McGowan. Matt has a bizarre obsession with column chromatography and peanut butter. He enjoys bench-pressing office colleagues and fixing unreasonably old automobiles.
They both enjoy the consumption of milk chocolate Hobnobs and caramel digestives.
